BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Tracy Morgan at 8 p.m. on April 22 in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
Tracy Morgan is well known as the star of "The Tracy Morgan Show" and as a "Saturday Night Live" cast member for seven years. Morgan also has had feature roles in such films as "Head of State," "Half Baked" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." When not appearing on television and film, Morgan tours the country with his standup comedy.
On SNL, Morgan most recently popularized two memorable characters -- "Safari Planet" host Brian Fellow and the space adventurer "Astronaut Jones." Other popular characters include Woodrow, the homeless romantic, and the longtime favorite, Dominican Lou. Morgan's impressions include Mike Tyson, "The View's" Star Jones, Della Reese, Busta Rhymes, Maya Angelou and Samuel L. Jackson. He also has made numerous comedic appearances as himself, both on "Weekend Update" and in backstage sketches where he grills the guest host with inappropriate questions.
Born and raised in New York City, Morgan is a standup comedian, actor and sketch-comedy player, who continually works the national standup comedy circuit while appearing on television and in feature films. After appearing on "Def Comedy Jam," he became well known appearing on Martin as the recurring character, Hustleman.
Morgan debuted an hour-long standup special on Comedy Central in August 2002 and contributed a voice to Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers." He also hosted the channel's standup showcase, "Comic Groove," and in 2002 was named the "It Ready for Prime Time Playa" by Entertainment Weekly's "It List."
