BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Department of Theatre and Dance again will offer its exciting and educational Summer Dance Program.
The Day Program will be held July 5, 7 and 9, and 12, 14 and 16. Morning classes are available in beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced levels. Morning Technique Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, and will include ballet, modern and jazz. Afternoon Intensive Study will be held from 1 -3 p.m. The first week will include concentrated study in tap, Broadway dance styles, and repertoire. The second week will include concentrated study in jazz techniques from classic to hip-hop. Cost ranges from $50 to $150, depending on program. Pre-registration is encouraged. Participants must be at least freshmen in high school.
The Evening Program will be held June 14 to July 22, with intermediate/advanced level master classes to be held from 6-7:30 p.m. The program includes two evenings of ballet, one modern, and one jazz. Cost ranges from $7 for a single class to $72 for 16 classes. Registration will be accepted at the door. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
All classes will take place in the Center for the Arts Dance Studios (Rooms B82 and B84) on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. UB Department of Theatre and Dance faculty, staff and guest artists will teach classes.
Classes are open to ALL dancers, studio members, UB students and community members.
