BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts has announced that the spring 2005 series Music is Art Live @ The Center, a television series celebrating Western New York's best contemporary musicians and visual artists, will begin airing on Sundays on UPN 23 WNLO starting Sept. 18 at 10:30 p.m.

The Center for the Arts also will continue Music is Art Live @ The Center, a series of live concerts by local musicians and artist exhibitions in the Center for the Arts Atrium on Tuesdays starting Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. Each event is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday evenings, the center's atrium will be transformed into a bustling coffeehouse featuring a unique blend of cutting-edge musicians and creative visual artists in a setting that is open to people of all ages. All events will be recorded for future television broadcast. During each event, a camera crew will shoot footage to produce a half-hour television episode highlighting the intimate original musical performances, visual arts demonstrations and the stories behind the artist's work.

Music is Art Live @ The Center is a collaboration between the Center for the Arts and the Music is Art Foundation with founder Robby Takac of ChameleonWest Studios and the Goo Goo Dolls. Robby Takac and Thomas Burrows, director of the Center of the Arts, serve as executive producers supported by a team of production personnel from the Center for the Arts, Chameleonwest Studios, local video production personnel and UB student interns.
