BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The public is invited to tour the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences during a free open house to be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 11.
The $52 million center is located at Ellicott and Virginia streets on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, only a short distance from Allentown and its annual arts festival to be held on June 11.
During the open house, visitors will learn first-hand about cutting-edge research aimed at improving the understanding of disease and developing new drugs and treatments, as well plans to commercialize those outcomes to benefit the local economy and create jobs.
Light refreshments will be served.
The New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, a major research center of the University at Buffalo, works in close collaboration with research partners Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute.
