Pop scientist Bill Nye, better known as Bill Nye the Science Guy for his educational television program dedicated to making science fun and accessible to all, will conclude the 2008-09 Distinguished Speakers Series at the University at Buffalo with a lecture at 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 22, 2009) in Alumni Arena on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
In addition to his nationally televised program, which won 28 Emmy awards, Nye's other television ventures include the Science Channel's 100 Greatest Discoveries and The Eyes of Nye. A passionate voice for the environment, Nye currently hosts Stuff Happens on Discovery's Planet Green channel.
During the lecture, audio and/or visual photography, as well as still photography, will be limited to the first five minutes of the program.
