Media Advisory: SUNY Chancellor to hold news briefing today at UB

Nancy Zimpher, who became chancellor of the State University of New York system on June 1, will be available to speak to Buffalo-area media at a briefing to be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, June 23) in the lobby of Harriman Hall on the University at Buffalo's South (Main Street) Campus.

Zimpher will be in town as part of her statewide tour of SUNY's 64 campuses, which is the first step in developing a strategic plan for SUNY. As part of this inclusive and collaborative process, the chancellor will meet with students, faculty, staff, community leaders, alumni and elected officials to discuss their views on SUNY's future.

In addition to the chancellor, UB President John B. Simpson and Buffalo State College President Muriel Howard will be on hand to speak to the media.

Zimpher will discuss her goals and plans for SUNY's colleges and universities and her views on UB 2020 and the role that research universities like UB play in the state economy.
