BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo will present Zodiaque Dance Company Oct. 21-25 in the Drama Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. Performances will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Recognized for its robust stage presence and diversity in styles, UB's Zodiaque Dance Company, which will launch its 36th season, is for everyone who dances, wants to dance or enjoys the spirit of motion. This fall, the diversity of motion and innovative programming will be captured by seven distinguished choreographers expanding the company's eclectic repertoire.
Concert highlights will include works by: Cathy Allen from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; UB faculty member Anne Burnidge; Buffalo's own Barbara Denny; celebrated Canadian choreographer David Earle; Jon Lehrer, artistic director of LehrerDance; Karen Schupp from Arizona State University; and Zodiaque Dance Company Artisic Director Tom Ralabate. In addition, Tressa Gorman Crehan will be the new managing director for the 2009-10 performance season.
Tickets for Zodiaque Dance Company are $18 general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available in the Center for the Arts Box Office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and at all Ticketmaster locations, including ticketmaster.com.
