BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo's Center for Industrial Effectiveness (TCIE) will host a business lunch workshop series designed to help professionals improve their businesses. Workshops will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center, 2402 North Forest Rd., Amherst. The cost of each program is $59, including lunch.
The workshops are:
• Oct. 22: "Change Management." TCIE facilitator Kristina Young will discuss how organizations can identify and maintain best practices when considering improvement projects or processes, or when reorganizing internal job responsibilities. Young is an expert in supervisory training, customer service training, team development, project management, strategic planning and managing cultural change.
• Nov. 19: "Knowledge Process Management." Sriram "Sri" Vilayanoor, a transformation expert with TCIE, will discuss how to properly and effectively use companies' resources to progress from concept to commerce, and how to relate ideas to markets and funding in adding value and increasing revenue. Vilayanoor specializes in quality management systems, design of engineering and knowledge processes, business development strategies and operations management.
• Jan. 14: "Non-Profit Project Selection." TCIE's senior business process performance manager, Tom Miller, will discuss how Lean Six Sigma projects affect return on investment and quality of service in a non-profit setting. Miller, a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, will explain how qualitative data may be used as a quantifiable measure, as well as the efficiencies that can impact on serving constituents.
