Actress, comedian, singer-songwriter and media personality Whoopi Goldberg will present "An Evening with Whoopi Goldberg" at the University at Buffalo at 8 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 9, 2009) in Alumni Arena on the North (Amherst) Campus.
A multitalented performer who is one of only 10 to have won a Grammy, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a Tony, her show is part of True Blue Weekend, UB's homecoming and family weekend celebration.

Known for her starring roles in movies that include "The Color Purple" "Ghost" and "Girl, Interrupted," Goldberg also has achieved success on television, Broadway and in the music industry, and holds a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, she has been honored with multiple NCAAP Image Awards, numerous People's Choice Awards, five Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and various awards and tribute for her humanitarian efforts. She currently is moderator and co-host of television's long-running talk show "The View."
Goldberg is not available for interviews. During her performance, audio and/or visual photography, as well as still photography, will be limited to the first five minutes of the program.
