The University at Buffalo will hold its fourth Scholarship Gala to raise funds for undergraduate and graduate student scholarships from 6-11 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009) in the Triple Gym in Alumni Arena on the UB North Campus.
Entertainment throughout the evening will include performances by UB's a cappella singing groups the Royal Pitches and the Buffalo Chips, as well as performances by the Zodiaque Dance Company, a live auction at 8:30 p.m. and UB's own version of "Dancing with the Stars" at 9 p.m.
Nearly half of last year's UB undergraduate students needed financial aid, and only about half of these students received assistance through scholarships and grants. The other students turned to student loans, work-study programs and part-time work. Funds raised by the Scholarship Gala are used to create scholarships for UB students in need.
Press arrangements: Suzanne Chamberlain, UB senior director of external affairs, onsite at 868-1020.
