(Updated 4 p.m.) UB officials continue to monitor the weather; as of 4 p.m. today, Dec. 10, UB remains open.
If a decision to close UB is reached, the university has a communications plan in place to notify the campus community.
According to UB procedure, any announcement to close the university will be posted on UB's Web sites and on UB's mass calling line 645-NEWS (645-6397). Email messages will be sent to employees and students, and a text message alert will be sent via UB's emergency messaging system.
The plan also calls for UB officials to notify WBFO 88.7 FM and other local news media.
Please do not contact University Police for updates on closing decisions.
Anyone wishing to receive emergency messages via text message or e-mail through UB's emergency messaging system can register at http://emergency.buffalo.edu.
