Nursing major Olivia Cox, from Buffalo, N.Y., is a junior Acker Scholar. She has been involved with the Black Student Union, one of the largest minority Undergraduate Student Association clubs on campus, first as a member, then as co-chair of Black Women United and now as president. She has served as an orientation aide, and is currently a first-year resident advisor in Wilkeson Quad. A finalist for the J. Scott Fleming Award in 2008, Cox received the Minority Faculty and Staff Association's Academic Achievement Award in 2009, as well as numerous scholarships from other local organizations.
