Frances Sansone is a retired associate professor from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She joined the Emeritus Center in 1999 and began participating in the REV-UP program, supporting a number of areas such as alumni, campus bloodmobiles, Empire State Games, human resources, music, Professional Staff Senate and the Special Olympics. In 2005, Sansone began volunteering for the Office of Advisement and Recruitment in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where her strong work ethic, dependability, accuracy and intelligence made her indispensible.
In addition to pharmacy, Sansone has logged more than 600 hours for the Department of Otolaryngology, working on complex administrative tasks that include typing book chapters; proofreading a brochure and preparing daily lecture schedules for 17 speakers for an international conference; collecting educational materials for residents and medical students; and preparing spreadsheets. In all, she has given more than 1,500 hours of volunteer service to UB.
Sansone's attention to detail, her willingness to lend a helping hand and her cheerful and warm-hearted nature has earned her respect and admiration as a volunteer star of the first magnitude.
