UB Alert Update: Attempted Purse Snatching

10:45 p.m. -- University Police believe the suspects in an attempted purse snatching that occurred tonight have fled campus. Anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation should call UB Police at 645-2222.

According to UB Police, at 8:39 p.m. tonight they received a report from a student who said she was assaulted by two white males who attempted to steal her bag. The victim reported that she had just left the library in Capen Hall and was in the Jacobs "A" parking lot when she was pushed to the ground and the suspects attempted to steal a bag containing a laptop. The suspects were both wearing dark clothing. The first male was wearing jeans and a black-hooded sweatshirt; the second male had medium-length brown hair, black sweatpants, a black North Face jacket and black sneakers. The suspects were last seen running northeast from the Jacobs lot.

UB Police remind members of the campus community to stay alert to their surroundings and always travel with other people. When possible, use the Anti-Rape Task Force escort program or other UB transportation services.
