The University at Buffalo will recognize the work and achievements of its faculty and staff as part of the Celebration of Faculty and Staff Excellence to be held at 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday, April 21) in the Center for the Arts on the UB North Campus.
The university-wide celebration, which honors scholarly, research and creative excellence, will include presentation of the first annual UB Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, a new award that recognizes the outstanding faculty mentorship of undergraduate research and creativity.
Also to be honored will those named to the rank of SUNY Distinguished Professor, the highest faculty rank in the SUNY system, as well as faculty and staff who are recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in teaching, professional service, scholarship and creative activities, librarianship and classified service.
The seventh-annual celebration, which will begin with a colorful academic procession, will be followed by a reception.
