U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. will speak to University at Buffalo Law School students at 5 p.m. today (Tuesday, May 3, 2011) in the Cellino and Barnes Conference Center, 511 O'Brian Hall on UB's North Campus.

Although Hochul's speech will include his original itinerary regarding careers for attorneys as prosecutors, as well as the need for civility and ethics, he will also address questions on the country's war on terrorism following this week's successful capture and execution of Osama bin Laden.

Hochul became chief of the U.S Attorney's Office's Anti-Terrorism Unit following Sept. 11, 2001, and chief of the National Security Division in 2006. While in these positions, Hochul served as lead prosecutor in several high-profile international terrorism cases, including the highly successful prosecution of the internationally known Lackawanna Six.

A reception will follow the speech, also in the Conference Center.

The speech is sponsored by UB's Student Bar Association. Press arrangements: Charles Anzalone in UB's Office of Communication at 645-4600 and onsite at 440-8824.
