BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Lee Road, the campus road adjacent to University at Buffalo's recently opened Greiner Residence Hall has a new look: It's now a two-way street.

"It became apparent that the university and the community will be better served if Lee Road is a two-way road," says Gerald W. Schoenle Jr., chief of University Police. "It was clear that the one-way regulation was not working as well as expected, and a change would benefit everyone."

The change is effective immediately.

Lee Road is directly off the traffic circle on Audubon Parkway, the same circle motorists take to get to the University Bookstore.

"It should also be noted that only service vehicles are permitted to enter the tunnel under the Ellicott Complex," says Schoenle.

Schoenle emphasized that the "no parking" regulation on Lee Road will continue.

Lee Road is in front of Greiner Hall, the campus' new state-of-the-art residence hall named after the university's 13th president, the late William R. Greiner. The hall opened this fall.
