BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at University at Buffalo will welcome Linda Eder on Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts, UB North Campus. The concert is sponsored in part by Creekside Dentistry.
Showcasing one of the greatest contemporary voices of our time, Linda Eder's diverse repertoire spans many genres, including Broadway, pop, country and jazz. Her career began with an impressive 12-week winning streak on the 1987 season of Star Search. Two decades later, Eder is an established vocalist with 13 critically acclaimed albums to her name. Eder returns to the center for the fourth time in a special concert of holiday music, popular standards and more.
Eder has performed at many prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and Radio City Music Hall, and her concerts have been televised on Bravo and PBS. She has made frequent appearances on the Rosie O'Donnell Show and Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, as well as an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman. Often compared to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, she has established a vital niche as one of America's most popular and acclaimed new interpreter of pop standards and theatrical songs.
The New York Times has said, "What do we mean when we use the word perfection? The question arises every time I watch the pop singer Linda Eder ... Eder's voice -- a rangy, flexible throb driven by a seemingly inexhaustible stamina and topped with high notes that grow larger and fuller as she moves up the scale -- will leave you open-mouthed. With her impeccable intonation, like an Olympic archer, she always hits bull's-eye dead center."
Tickets for Linda Eder are $52, $47 and $42 general admission and $27 for students (all schools). Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts Box Office (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and all Ticketmaster locations, including ticketmaster.com.
