School of Management Honors Recruiters, Interns and Supervisors

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center and the Credit-Bearing Internship Program in the University at Buffalo School of Management honored business professionals, students and companies on April 17 at a reception in the South Lake Village Community Room on UB's North Campus.

The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center Alumnus of the Year award was given to Greg Capodagli, senior marketing associate at Fisher-Price, as the alumnus having the greatest positive impact on MBA students and student clubs in the School of Management.

The Recruiter of the Year award went to Jill Douglas, senior manager, North America human resources, at New Era Cap Co., for making a significant impact in recruiting School of Management students.

Ernst & Young received the Recruiting Organization of the Year award. Michael Murray, assurance partner, accepted the award for Ernst & Young.

The Credit-Bearing Internship Program (CBIP) presented Student Interns of the Year awards to three students. The recipients and their internship placements were Aubrey Stahl, American Education Foundation; Deepika Shihn, M&T Bank; and Christian Nole, Travers, Collins & Co. Honorable mentions were given to Jhorllana Romera Flores and Jeremy Kephart, U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission; and Kristen Mazurkiewicz, Sustainable Earth Solutions.

The CBIP also presented three Intern Supervisor of the Year awards to honor supervisors for their contributions to the professional development of the UB interns who worked for them. Interns nominated supervisors for recognition. The recipients were Marissa Koch, human resources generalist, National Fuel; Maria Seufert, treasury relationship associate, M&T Bank; and Alyssa Mayer, account manager, Travers, Collins & Co.

Outstanding Internship Partner was awarded to VWR Education for their integrity, involvement and commitment to positive internship experiences. Tim Burns, director of marketing, Diane Schuck, warehouse manager, and Kasey Hansen, merchandising manager, accepted the award.

Life Technologies was honored as Outstanding New Internship Partner for their dedication to creating opportunities for UB students through challenging internship projects. Mark Stramaglia, associate director of product development, accepted the award.

Not-for-Profit Internship Organization of the Year was awarded to Heritage Centers for their ability to bring real-world projects to students interested in applying their business education to the nonprofit industry. Accepting the award was Michael Gross, president of Heritage Centers.
