BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo will announce tomorrow, May 16, the design team selected to design the new, state-of-the-art facility for the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to be constructed in downtown Buffalo.
Members of the media are invited to attend this event at 6:30 p.m. in the Eleanor and Wilson Greatbatch Pavilion at the Darwin Martin House, 125 Jewett Pkwy.
The announcement of the design team will be accompanied by exhibition of proposals from four teams of the world's top architects that originally vied for the opportunity to design the new UB medical school.
Speakers will include:
-- A representative from the winning design team
-- UB President Satish K. Tripathi
-- Robert Shibley, dean, UB School of Architecture and Planning
-- Michael Cain, dean, UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
Over the next several months, the winning design team will create a final design for the UB medical school with input from the university and the community, as well as the full range of design concepts proposed by the four competition finalists.
