BUFFALO, N.Y. -- H. Raghav Rao, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in the University at Buffalo School of Management, was honored with international recognition for his research excellence.
An article co-authored by Rao received a Citation of Excellence award for 2012 from Emerald Management Reviews.
The award, presented by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, recognizes the 50 most outstanding articles published by the world's top 300 management journals, due to its proven impact since its publication.
Rao's article, "A Trust-Based Consumer Decision-Making Model in Electronic Commerce: The Role of Trust, Perceived Risk and their Antecedents," appeared in the journal Decision Support Systems in 2008. It was chosen for the award from among Emerald's vast database of more than 300,000 journal articles.
"This is an extraordinary achievement and one of the highest accolades an author can receive," said Arjang Assad, dean of the School of Management. "It is a testament to Professor Rao's continued excellence in research and publishing."
Rao, a professor in the School of Management's Department of Management Science and Systems, co-authored the article with Dan Kim, an associate professor of information technology and decision sciences at the University of North Texas who received his doctorate from the UB School of Management in 2003, and Donald Ferrin, a professor of organizational behavior and human resources at Singapore Management University.
