BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions (RIA), a national leader in the study of alcohol and substance abuse issues, launched a new website this week.
The new site, buffalo.edu/ria, is part of UB’s Digital Communications Transformation project, a multiyear initiative to create and manage effective and informative websites for the university’s units.
“We are very excited about the new website and its potential to inform our colleagues and the community about the excellent work we do here at RIA,” says Kenneth Leonard, PhD, director of RIA.
Highlights of the website include information about RIA scientists and their research programs, latest news, seminars, training opportunities, substance use fact sheets and photo galleries of recent RIA events, presented with easy navigation and eye-catching graphics.
“Our goal is to create a site that will be of value to researchers in the addictions field, potential postdoctoral associates and to the public at large who seek the latest information on substance abuse research,” Leonard says.
RIA is a research center of the University at Buffalo and a national leader in the study of alcohol and substance abuse issues. RIA’s research programs, most of which have multiple-year funding, are supported by federal, state and private foundation grants. Located on UB’s Downtown Campus, RIA is a member of the dynamic Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and helps promote UB’s strategic focus on research initiatives.
