BUFFALO, N.Y. – Wes Moore, an Army combat veteran, social entrepreneur and youth advocate, will speak at the University at Buffalo at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Alumni Arena, North Campus, as part of the UB Distinguished Speakers Series.

Moore is the author of the bestselling book “The Other Wes Moore,” about two boys with the same name who grew up in similar neighborhoods in the same city and had difficult childhoods. One became a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran, White House fellow and business leader. The other is serving a life sentence in prison for felony murder. At each stage in their young lives they came across similar moments of decision, but their choices and the people in their lives led them to far different destinies.

He is UB’s 2014 UB Reads author.

During the program, audio and/or video photography, as well as still photography, will be limited to the first five minutes of his lecture.
