BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bright Buffalo Niagara, the premier event for highlighting Western New York’s entrepreneurial investment opportunities, is partnering with business plan competition 43North today to showcase some of the hottest investment prospects from across the globe.
The event, the Bright Buffalo Niagara Semifinalist Meet-Up, will give more than 50 investors the opportunity to engage with 42 of the semifinalists in 43North, the world’s largest business plan competition.
Media are invited to attend the meet-up, as well as a workshop titled “The Wild West of Equity-Based Crowdfunding” that will kick off the day.
The Wild West of Equity-Based Crowdfunding
What: This workshop is part of a CBLS lecture series, and is presented in collaboration with the Western New York Venture Association.
When: Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1-2:30 p.m.
Where: Zebro Room of Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Center for Genetics and Pharmacology, adjacent to UB’s York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, 701 Ellicott St., Buffalo.
Bright Buffalo Niagara Seminfinalist Meet-Up
What: Since 2009, Bright Buffalo Niagara has been recognized as the premier Western New York event highlighting the region’s entrepreneurial investment opportunities.
Past events have featured company pitches, but this year’s forum takes on a new twist as Bright Buffalo Niagara partners with 43North, the world’s largest business plan competition, to showcase 42 of the semifinalists that rose to the top from a pool of nearly 7,000 business plans.
The event format, featuring exhibition opportunities and networking, gives companies that were not selected as one of the finalists an invaluable platform to connect with the investor community. More than 50 investors have signed up to attend.
