BUFFALO, N.Y. – Dennis Black, vice president for university life and services, has resigned from the University at Buffalo effective today, President Satish K. Tripathi announced today.

Laura Hubbard, vice president for finance and administration, will assume management of University Life and Services (ULS) operations effective immediately and for an interim period.

A search for a vice president for student affairs will begin in the coming weeks, Tripathi said. “During the interim period, I will be evaluating UB’s administrative needs to determine the most appropriate organizational structure as we move forward,” he said.

In a memo to UB’s senior leadership and ULS staff, Tripathi extended his thanks and appreciation to Black for his service to the university and wished him the best in his retirement.

As a matter of policy, the university does not discuss individual personnel matters. The university will have no further comment on this announcement.
