Buffalo, N.Y. - The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo presents Steven Wright on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $29, students (any school) $19.
Academy Award-winning comedian Steven Wright got his big break on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" in 1982. The comic soon found himself performing his off-beat routines on "Saturday Night Live," "Late Night with David Letterman," and numerous trips back to "The Tonight Show." Throughout the ’80s and ’90s Wright expanded his comedy career to include several comedy albums, and numerous film and television appearances as a performer, director and writer.
Steven was honored as the first inductee into The Boston Comedy Hall of Fame in 2008. In 2013 Steven received The Johnny Carson Comedy Legend Award. The award is given each year to a celebrated comedian who has been influenced by Carson in some way and has left their own mark on the comedy world.
He was nominated for an Emmy Award as a Producer on the 2014 season of the hit FX series, Louie and continued as a Producer for the 2015 season. He guest starred in two episodes of Louie in 2015 and 2011 and can be seen in Louis CK’s critically-acclaimed web series Horace and Pete.
Steven is a regular guest with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers and continues touring the U.S., Canada and overseas.
