BUFFALO, N.Y. – Approximately 2,500 students participate. It’s never been rained out. And everyone gets a t-shirt.
University at Buffalo students will mark the start of a new academic year beginning at approximately 4 p.m. today (Aug. 24) by forming the university’s logo in UB Stadium on the North Campus.
UB students wearing blue and white t-shirts will form the interlocking UB logo, an annual tradition dating back to 2004. It’s all part of the New Student Welcome that begins at 3 p.m. in UB Stadium, and the marquee event of Welcome Weekend aimed at helping students and the campus community greet the new academic year.
Best location for media: The top of the bleachers on the west side of UB Stadium, although access also is available on the field.
Media arrangements: Doug Sitler, onsite, at 716-984-7595.
Video of a previous year’s “human UB logo” is available here: https://bit.ly/2P4c69s.
