BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo will celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend, two of the most traditional of college events, Oct. 12-14 with a variety of activities for students, their family members and alumni.
Friday’s events include a carnival featuring live entertainment, rides, games, prizes and food, which begins at 8 p.m. on the shore of Lake LaSalle next to the UB Bookstore, followed by the annual bonfire, pep rally and fireworks beginning at 9 p.m.
Saturday will feature the weekend’s main event as the 5-1 UB Bulls square off against Mid-American Conference rivals the Akron Zips at noon in UB Stadium. Fans will begin their pregame rituals at 9 a.m. with some tailgating in Stampede Square adjacent to UB Stadium, where Night Ranger will perform beginning at 10 a.m.
And don’t miss the Walk to Victory, where players, coaches and cheerleaders, accompanied by the Thunder of the East marching band, will head into UB Stadium two hours before kickoff.
