BUFFALO, N.Y. — “BU-FF-AL-O, Go! BU-FF-AL-O, Go!”

That’s among the chants likely to be bellowed out in bars and restaurants across Western New York tonight. University at Buffalo football fans will be cheering on the UB Bulls as they battle Northern Illinois for the Mid-American Conference championship at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Bulls (10-2), winners of the MAC East Division title, will be looking for a program-best 11th victory on the season and just their second MAC championship in program history. UB won it in 2008.

Western New York Bulls fans are expected to be out in full force at four watch parties across the region. Media are invited to stop out to the watch parties to capture the excitement. Tonight’s game kicks off at 7 and will air nationally on ESPN2.

Official UB Bulls watch parties:

  • Student Union, UB North Campus (map)
  • Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill, 1402 Millersport Highway, Williamsville
  • Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill, 7800 Transit Road, Williamsville
  • The Dome, 8230 Wehrle Drive, Williamsville

Visit UB’s MAC Championship Game Central page for more information about watch parties locally and in other cities.

Note for Buffalo media covering the game in Detroit:

A pre-game party will take place at the Comerica Gridiron Club located inside Ford Field (near Gate D, Montcalm Street side of the stadium).

The private tailgate party goes from 5:30 p.m. until kickoff and will feature appearances by members of the UB spirit team. The event is open to UB alumni, donors, parents and friends.
