BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts (UBCFA) welcomes audiences back in-person for Art in the Open, a free event showcasing the music, dance, theatre, film and visual art that is made at UB.
On Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5 – 9 p.m., doors will be open for guests to explore and see a variety of art in action and on display.
The UBCFA is a dynamic arts community where dancers, actors, filmmakers, musicians and artists come to create and perform. Areas of the UBCFA will be alive where guests will have the opportunity to listen to live music; watch films; tour studio and lab spaces; view art gallery exhibitions and view theatre and dance open rehearsals.
“Seeing all of the creative activity in the open highlights UB’s vast offering of programs and the artistry of our students and faculty,” says Jamie Enser, executive director of the Center for the Arts. "Art in the Open is an invitation for everyone, both the UB and Western New York communities, to come and explore the incredible artistic work that is created here,” Enser added.
Art in the Open will include performances and activities curated and produced by UB students, faculty and staff from the departments of Art, Media Study, Music, Theatre and Dance, the Arts Management Program, UB Art Galleries and the Arts Collaboratory. Guests can meet artists and enjoy refreshments in the UBCFA’s Atrium.
A schedule of events is available on the UB Center for the Arts website.
