University Police investigating fatal stabbing on North Campus

BUFFALO, N.Y. - University Police are actively investigating a fatal stabbing that took place Friday evening at Moody Terrace roadway near Richmond Quad (Ellicott Complex) on the university’s North Campus.


Shortly after 7:30 p.m., University Police received a report of a male suffering from a chest wound near Moody Terrace roadway. The victim, a male who is not a member of the UB community, was transported by ambulance to ECMC where he was later tragically pronounced dead.

UPD is looking for a black sedan that fled the area, and at least four individuals who may have been involved in the incident. Police do not believe there is a danger to the university community at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and University Police is urging anyone with information to call 716-645-2222.

For the safety of the campus community, police have increased patrols near the Ellicott Complex area while the investigation continues.
