BUFFALO, N.Y. – All classes and activities scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18, across all three University at Buffalo campuses are cancelled due to the winter storm impacting the region.

All classes and activities for Thursday evening, Nov. 17, will be held as scheduled. Please use caution when traveling to and from campus this evening.

Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office has directed the university to assign telecommuting for all non-essential staff who can perform their work remotely on Friday, Nov. 18. Such staff should discuss arrangements to work remotely with their supervisor. Non-essential staff employees who would prefer to charge appropriate leave accruals on that date should be permitted to do so with approval from their supervisor and where operationally feasible.

Non-essential staff who, at their supervisor’s determination, are unable to telecommute because of the nature of their assignment are excused from work without charge to accruals on Friday, Nov. 18.

Services related to the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and guests must continue despite severe conditions. Essential staff whose presence at their official station is critical to operations should still report to work as scheduled or directed on that date.

It is understood that not all essential employees will be able to travel to campus in inclement weather. In that case, essential employees should contact their supervisor.

Updates and additional information about changes in university schedule and operations will be posted at http://emergency.buffalo.edu.
