An article in the New York Law Journal looks at three initiatives by law schools that give students the opportunity to deliver real-life legal services to clients in need, including a UB clinic that helps people secure affordable housing. The article quotes George Hezel, clinical associate professor of law, who heads the clinic, and says the students act as counsel for the non-profit organizations behind the projects, organizations unable to negotiate the legal work required to support their mission of providing shelter and fresh starts for poor people.
