An article in Newsday on the Jan. 23 murder of a Syosset couple reports a motive for the killings remains a mystery and quotes Charles Patrick Ewing, professor of law, on the likelihood police will make a ballistic match to the murder weapon using only the bullet fragments that were found at the scene.
