MSNBC: UB experts look at airport security lines and speed of screening

An article on MSNBC reports a study by UB researchers has shown that even if you're in a very long airport security line, you're going to be screened as thoroughly as if you had just a few people in front of you, and quotes Rajan Batta, professor of industrial and systems engineering, and Colin Drury, SUNY Distinguished Professor emeritus of industrial and systems engineering. "If you're going to have a speed-up anywhere, it's probably safest to have it with laptops because that a more difficult item to hide something in. We didn't see a speed-up with carry-on bags, so that's reassuring," Batta said.
