An article in the Boston Herald on hockey players who have suffered a major concussion and post-concussion syndrome looks at the program designed by UB researchers to help a member of the Buffalo Sabres recover from his second major concussion in 2006, and quotes Barry Willer, professor of psychiatry and rehabilitation sciences, who said, "There isn't anything else available to athletes and other who suffer from post-concussion syndrome. The standard (old) protocol is rest and anti-depressants if the symptoms remain. What kind of treatment is that? We offer hope to people suffering from these symptoms."
