New research by Mark Seery, assistant professor of psychology, has received a great deal of media coverage in the U.S. and overseas, particularly in the U.K. where The Guardian ran front-page coverage. In addition, BBC World Service broadcast an interview with Seery on his findings showing that it's not always beneficial for people who experience a collective trauma to open up about their feelings. Seery also did interviews with major media outlets in Ireland, Sweden and Canada, and was quoted in TIME and Newsweek. The Washington Post also covered his research in its "Check Up" blog.
