Associated Press: Will lower water levels affect New York's hydro facilities?

Joseph Atkinson, professor of civil, structural and environmental engineering and director of the Great Lakes Program, is quoted in an article distributed by the Associated Press that reports a number studies predict Great Lakes water levels will drop as average temperatures creep higher and looks at the affect lower water levels would have on New York State's ability to use hydro facilities to generate electrical power. The article was widely distributed and appears in newspapers throughout New York, including Newsday, Albany Times Union and Syracuse Post Standard, as well as on news sites of television stations across the country.
