An op-ed in the Los Angeles Times on whether undecided voters are still truly undecided at this point in the election cycle quotes James E. Campbell, professor and chair of political science. "In only one of the nine elections, the 1976 race between Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, did the swing vote majority override an opposite majority among non-swing voters," he said.
