An article in the New York Examiner on health care reform myths reports research conducted by Steven Hoffman, visiting assistant professor of sociology, shows that rather than search for information that confirms or disconfirms a particular belief, people actually seek out information that confirms what they already believe.

Hoffman's research also was the subject of an article distributed by UPI.
