Lawrence Southwick Jr., professor emeritus of finance and managerial economics, is quoted in an article in the Christian Science Monitor about cities like Buffalo and Minneapolis that have seen their unemployment rates fall more quickly than cities in warmer climates. "This area doesn't leap up as much in good times and doesn't fall as badly in bad times," he said. ABC News also covered the story.
