Joshua Dyck, assistant professor of political science, is quoted in an article in the Toronto Globe and Mail about the election of Democrat Kathy Hochul to the 26th Congressional District and the role that the Medicare reform plan devised by Republican congressman Paul Ryan played in her election. "Democrats have found a powerful heuristic [tool] with which they will likely wage campaigns in the 2012 cycle: They are going to attack Republicans on Medicare," he said. "It may be a very convincing mechanism to mobilize Democratic voters."
