The Associated Press interviews UB expert on CDC report of increased suicide in middle aged

Steven Dubovsky, chair of the UB Department of Psychiatry, is quoted in an Associated Press article about a new report by the Centers for Disease Control that shows the suicide rate among middle-aged New Yorkers shot up 42 percent in a decade, far outpacing the 28 percent increase seen among peers nationwide. Several factors may be at play, he said, including tough economic times and difficulty in getting mental health care.
