An article in the Baltimore Sun reports engineering researchers at the Johns Hopkins University will conduct an earthquake simulation in UB’s MCEER, which the article describes as “a huge laboratory with a soaring ceiling, big enough to contain a two-story building set on a giant hydraulic ‘shake table.’” The lead researcher described the earthquake simulation, which will test the resilience of cold-formed steel, as “awesome, the best project of my life.”
