The Buffalo News published an op-ed titled, “Another Voice: Medical school’s downtown move will transform medicine” by Michael E. Cain, MD, UB vice president for health sciences and dean of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. In the piece, Cain states that the medical school’s move downtown will allow “For the first time, the City of Buffalo to be home to a true academic health center – with the medical school and three of its hospital partners working in close proximity, engaged collaboratively in transforming Buffalo into an international destination for the very best research, education and patient care.”
