The Wall Street Journal interviews UB psychology expert about clique formation in very young children

Jamie Ostrov, associate professor of psychology, is quoted in an article in The Wall Street Journal about the increasing number of children in kindergarten and younger who are forming cliques and intentionally excluding others. “It actually works so well because of the child’s limited cognitive abilities,” said Ostrov, who says he has detected signs of relational aggression in children as young as 2 ½ years.
