An article on the front page of the Buffalo News about local college and university enrollment trends looks at the growth state colleges and universities are experiencing while private colleges are seeing their enrollments drop. The article notes that UB has “fared particularly well,” with an increase of 1,690 students over five years, the largest gain among all four-year institutions in the SUNY system, and quotes Lee Melvin, vice provost for enrollment management. “We want to make sure the students we bring in can get their classes,” he said. “Right now, the plan is for us to stay stable.”
