An opinion piece in the Buffalo News by Michael E. Cain, dean of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and Marsha L. Lewis, dean of the School of Nursing, looks at the need for primary care in Western New York, the declining number of primary care physicians in the area and the role that other health professionals such as nurse practitioners, dentists and pharmacists can play in providing health care screenings.
