Can students have too much tech?

An opinion piece in The New York Times about technology in the classroom and mounting evidence that showering students, especially those from struggling families, with networked devices will not shrink the class divide in education but, if anything, will widen it, quotes Randy Yerrick, professor of learning and instruction. Investment in technology, he said, is worth it when it’s perfectly suited to the task, in science simulations, for example, or to teach students with learning disabilities.
