Like that Super Bowl ad? It may mean stock-price gains

An article in the Arizona Republic about Super Bowl commercials and their relationship to stock prices reports a study by UB researchers found a link between well-liked Super Bowl television ads and the stock performance of certain companies, at least over a very short period of time. "If likeability of the commercials caused a subsequent increase in company sales, a stock increase would make sense," said Kenneth Kim, associate professor of finance in the UB School of Management. "But we did not find this to be the case." An article also appeared in Financial Advisor magazine.
